The Fun Never Stops

Since you last heard from us we have been constantly on the move. We went to Arkansas Rally for for memorial weekend.
Arkansas moved their rally to the northern part of the state, Harrison AR., and what a great location it turned out to be. The
town was very friendly. There were many roads in the surrounding area to travel. The Arkansas staff did a great job. Branson
Missouri was just 30 miles north and many wingers were able to go there for a visit. The following weekend, 5/1-5/2 we headed
to Deridder, La for LA Chapter M’s Mudbug Rally. You had a choice of either brisket or crayfish. A crowd of about 200 attended
and all had a good time. We made the trip with our home chapter (La-A) and from Deridder we headed into Texas to spend the
night in Centre. We rode many back roads before returning home late Sunday.
6/7 a group of Chapter A members helped the local Southern Cruiser Chapter with their annual rally to support St Jude. We helped
with their poker run. This Southern Cruiser Chapter raised nearly $50,000.00 for St Jude in 2007. The figures for this year’s rally
has not been officially reported yet. There are so many good motorcycle groups working hard for some good causes. Pam and I
are the Louisiana District Educators and we put on a Rider Ed Roundup on June 14 in Opelousas. We sure do have a lot of great
educators in our Louisiana Ride Education Program. A big thanks goes out to Texas District Educators John and Lydia Bourg and
Arkansas District Educators Bill and Jennie McBride, who attended our roundup and helped provide information about their
yearly safety weekends. (Of course they provided more than information about the safety weekend). It is Louisiana’s goal to have
our first safety weekend in early 2009, if not before. Pam and I did manage to introduce our guests to some Louisiana food, such
as seafood pie, boudin, hog head cheese, poboys, and Pam’s homemade biscuits. We took them on a few back roads as we rode
to New Orleans for a visit. Once in New Orleans we showed them some of the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina, (there is
plenty left), walked through as well as took a narrated buggy ride in the French Quarter, and of course had to enjoy some beignets
(donuts) with café au lait (coffee). We will be headed to Wing Ding on June 28th. We plan on attending the International Couples
selection held on July 2. Check your program for exact time and place. We will be supporting Region H’s very own Rhonda and
Ken Holmes who will be part of the selection program. Let’s all get behind Rhonda and Ken and let them hear us in the audience
when they call out their names when being introduced. GOOD LUCK Rhonda and Ken.
Til next month.
