Hello Friends,

      Wow!!! If it wasn’t raining it was triple digit hot for the whole month of July. We had ten Chapter H members attend Wing Ding 33 in Knoxville. Fun was had by all. Our hats go off to Steve and Faye Alexander for doing a great job in representing Region H and our great state of Louisiana. Selena and I did get to volunteer this year at Wing Ding. We helped Region H with the bike show. Who would have ever thought that you could have so much fun working on your vacation?

      We didn’t have anything on our calendar for July because of the rain and the high temperatures. Having plenty of time think, I started to think of ways to boost member participation numbers, acquire more advertisers, and find a way to give back to the members of Chapter H.

      Here is what I have come up with: In my quest to bring the participation levels up, I will be implementing the following: On Monday night dinner rides, one lucky member will have their food and non-alcoholic beverage paid for by the chapter. Another way to enhance participation will be for every ride, event, convention, and meeting our members attend they will earn one credit towards a drawing in February. This drawing will be for a chance to win one of ten paid registration to the Louisiana District Convention in April.

      I have decided to use something from one of our neighboring chapter. Any member responsible for getting three business owners to buy an ad in our newsletter and website within one years’ time, the chapter will pay that members GWRRA membership fee for one year. We are currently developing a flyer for you to print from our chapter’s website to make it easier for you to recruit new advertisers.

      Cycle World’s Bike Night has been put on hold until September the 15th. Come out and join us at Cycle World. Also don’t forget about club Saturday. This is the last Saturday of each month. This is a good way for our members to get an extra 10% off of their purchases. Don’t forget to support all of our newsletter sponsors. Also thank them for their support. With their help, we are able to send out these newsletters at no cost to you.
