Chapter Directors:
August 2008
Hello Fellow Riders,
I
hope that everyone has been enjoying the summer months, I have been having a great timeso far but we could use a little relief from the heat. Well remember it’s that time of the year again
in many areas school will be opening up soon, so keep a close eye out for the little ones.
We had a great turn out at our meeting this month with 47 members in attendance and with
District Educators and Region H Couple of the Year Mike and Pam Jastram as our distinguished guests. During the Riders Rd portion
of the meeting Rider Educator Merlin Mayon shared some of their experiences that happened to them while riding in the mountains
on vacation. They all made it home safely and had a great time as well. Assistant Rider Educator Gary Reynaud discussed the topic
of the dark grey clouds. With the late afternoon showers we have at this time of the year it is very important that we be on the
lookout for these dark grey clouds that may contain strong winds and heavy rains and that you should try to seek shelter if possible
before attempting to ride through them.
Looks like we will be on the road pretty good bit in the future as our ride calendar is filling up again for the rest of the year. We
have a couple of overnight rides scheduled along with our Natchez Trip and our return to Lambert's in Gulf Shores, AL. Check out our
updated website for the times and places for future rides.
On our first Monday Night Mystery dinner ride we had 10 of us of that went to King Buffet then on our second ride we had 21 of us
that went to Badeauxs in Des Allemands for food and laughter. On one of our Saturday night rides Perry and Denise took a group to
Catfish Charlie’s in Hammond for some great seafood. On the other Saturday night ride I led a group to Posada's Mexican Restaurant
in Lafayette. You have got to try the ribs at this place, just ask Erroll!
Well that’s about it for now looking forward to seeing you soon.
Till next issue remember to
