Asst. District Directors

Hello Fellow Wingers,

It’s hard to believe that we’re halfway through 2008 and another Wing Ding is over!

Wing Ding XXX in Greenville, SC was fantastic, with over 11,000 in attendance. We

saw old friends and met many new ones. There was much to see and do, with something there for everyone, and

great riding to boot.

We took a northeasterly trek to Wing Ding, riding the Blueridge Parkway from Cherokee, NC all the way to Natural

Bridge, VA. The weather on the way couldn’t have been better. We were able to skirt the rain for the first couple of

days, and then had to dig out the heavy jackets in the “high country”. What could be better in July! We then headed

west, for a stop off in Erwin, TN in honor of Joyce (Erwin) and Cousin Stan (Erwin).

Then it was time to head back south to Greenville. We arrived in time for the International Couple selection where

competition was stiff. Then it was up early on Thursday, July 3rd for opening ceremonies and to work the Goodie

Booth. The LA District staff worked the Goodie Booth all that day, along with Region H staff and some tiger clad

wingers. Thanks Chapter A, we appreciate your hard work!

We headed back home on Saturday, the 5th making our invariable stop at Lambert’s in Foley, AL for some throwed

rolls and possum stew. Then, to add insult to injury, we had to ride home in the rain, but we didn’t hit the heavy

rain til we were about 10 miles from home. This time next year we will be “Cruising to the PowWow in Tulsa, OK for

Wing Ding XXXI. We’re already planning and can’t wait!

Let’s ride,

Wayne & Joyce
